iAN&ANi Duo
iAN&ANi Duo is a Chicago-based cello and piano ensemble comprised of Russian cellist Ian Maksin and Bulgarian pianist Ani Gogova. In a little over a year since inception, iAN&ANi have performed nearly one hundred concerts in different parts of the USA and in Europe. Their performances have been broadcast on NPR, WFMT and other stations in the USA and around the world. Their debut CD Tango Plus came out last October and features music of Piazzolla, Ginastera, Ravel, Schedrin, De Falla and the world premiere of a piece by the award-winning Chicago composer Ilya Levinson. iAN&ANi have recently appeared on TED Talks and their critically acclaimed production "Tango Obsession" was sold out for five consecutive nights at the Chopin Theatre in Chicago last year. Recognized for their unique productions, iAN&ANi often collaborate with dancers of the Joffrey Ballet and Tango 21 Dance Company, as well as visual artists to create one-of-a-kind performing experiences.
MODE Ensemble
Mode Ensemble is Chicago-based group of young musicians set to break the molds of the traditional classical concert experience. The members of Mode have enjoyed successes in solo recitals and concerts with orchestras in Bulgaria, Italy, Serbia, England, Slovenia, Portugal, Macedonia, Switzerland, Asia, Australia, Canada, and throughout the US. Mode members have worked under the batons of James Levine, Paavo Järvi, Valery Gergiev, Pierre Boulez, Bernard Haitink, Michael Tilson Thomas & Riccardo Muti and have performed as members of the Chicago Symphony Chorus, Civic Orchestra of Chicago, UBS Verbier Festival Orchestra, LA Philharmonic & the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Our members have also been featured on WFMT, Bulgarian National Radio & NPR.
ANIMA Productions
Equally at home as a performer and producer, Ani Gogova is the Executive Director of Anima Productions. In this capacity, she has been in charge of numerous productions, most notably the world premiere recording of music for baritone and string quartet by Ricky Ian Gordon to be presented at Lincoln Center in New York this coming spring, as well as productions at the most prestigious concert halls in New York and Chicago including Carnegie Hall, Harris Theatre, and Old Town School for Folk Music featuring artists like GRAMMY award winning soprano Barbara Frittoli, Metropolitan star Elizabeth Norberg Schultz, and world-music phenomenon Theodosii Spasov, to name a few. In addition, Gogova has co-produced several music films of iAN&ANi Duo directed by Russian director Sergei Kvitko, most notably “Strings Detached” featuring leading ballerina of the Joffrey Ballet, Abigail Simon.
